Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and have experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' health status. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, including those for Alzheimer's and dementia care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient monitoring and support. Engage in social activities that promote mental stimulation and community involvement.

Skills

First aid and CPR certification are highly desirable. Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes is preferred. Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality. Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism. Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia-related challenges. Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to individual dietary requirements. Background in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
