Wesbury is seeking a PCA to join the team at Grace Rehabilitation and health Center. Grace is a skilled nursing facility offering short and long term care, rehabilitation and memory support. JOB SUMMARY: A Personal Care Aide provides support services to residents and nursing staff as well as assists with the day to day functions of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make unoccupied beds.
  • Pass water/ice and meal trays.
  • Care for resident clothes/personal belongings.
  • Transport residents throughout the building and may accompany them to outside appointments.
  • Assist residents with dining with nursing staff present for assistance/support.
  • Answer call bells and provide assistance as allotted.
  • Provide nail care.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents assuring confidentiality and respecting privacy.
  • Assists with emergencies and calming combative residents.
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • High School graduate preferred.
  • Completion of PCA Program preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospital or nursing home is a plus.
  • Patient, compassionate and a desire to work with the elderly.
  • May be required to work rotating shifts and in various nursing departments.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the position which include standing, bending and lifting.
  • Work well with others; treat residents, co-workers, and staff with care and respect.
  • Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information.
  • Adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.
