Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in personal care homes and nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of resident rights and memory care, ensuring that clients receive the highest quality of care. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and administering medication as needed while fostering a supportive and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document vital signs to ensure the health and well-being of residents. Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and maintain accurate records. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting their mental well-being. Uphold resident rights by respecting their privacy, dignity, and individuality. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans for residents. Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the personal care home or nursing facility. Participate in training sessions on first aid and emergency response protocols.

Requirements

Previous experience in a personal care home or nursing home setting is preferred. Knowledge of resident rights and memory care practices is essential. Familiarity with medication administration systems is a plus. Ability to perform first aid procedures when necessary. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving. Capability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities effectively. Must be able to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or healthcare are advantageous.
