We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and private residences. Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
Monitor patients' health by taking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any irregularities to healthcare professionals promptly.
Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and safety.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas, laundry, and organizing personal belongings.
Observe and document patients' conditions, behaviors, and progress; communicate updates clearly to nursing staff or supervisors.
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with transfers, ensuring patient safety at all times.
Engage clients in social activities or recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures; respond effectively in emergency situations or incidents.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that reflect each individual's needs and goals.
Support clients in community outings or appointments to foster independence and social engagement.
Skills
Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes; experience with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or developmental disabilities is highly valued.
Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; familiarity with assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is preferred.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times.
Skilled in meal preparation that adheres to special dietary needs; experience in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail.
Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and any relevant state-specific caregiving licenses are advantageous.
