Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those they serve. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans. Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper nutrition. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry. Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Engage clients in social activities and promote independence through direct support. Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism as needed. Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure client confidentiality and privacy.

Experience

Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:

Home & community care experience or home health services. Assisted living or nursing home experience. Working with people with developmental disabilities or special needs. Direct support roles in caregiving or social work settings. Familiarity with first aid, CPR, patient observation, patient monitoring, and vital signs is preferred. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to quality patient care, and the ability to handle heavy lifting when required. Experience in long-term care settings is highly valued, along with knowledge of meal preparation and cleaning protocols relevant to caregiving environments.
