Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly
Support clients with medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to transfer clients with mobility challenges
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces
Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Assist in managing complex conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques
Participate in ongoing training related to first aid, CPR, assisted living procedures, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
Qualifications
Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs effectively
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are advantageous
Experience working with people with disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia enhances your ability to provide tailored support
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts when necessary
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Demonstrated reliability, compassion, patience, and a positive attitude towards caregiving roles
Willingness to undergo background checks and adhere to all safety protocols
