Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and long-term care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease.

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide personal care services while ensuring the dignity and comfort of each client. Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in the client's condition. Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs. Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, hospice care, or nursing is preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease is a plus. Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor changes in client conditions effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Familiarity with patient care protocols, including meal preparation, cleaning routines, and medication administration. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
