Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of resident rights and be knowledgeable in areas such as dementia care and memory care. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the dignity and independence of our clients while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities. Assist with mobility, including lifting or transferring clients as needed. Monitor and document changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality. Support clients with memory care techniques to enhance cognitive function. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care for residents.

Requirements

Previous experience in long-term care or as a personal care assistant is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices and resident rights is highly desirable. Ability to lift and assist clients safely, following proper techniques. Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential. Understanding of basic cooking skills to prepare meals for clients. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy is required. A valid certification or training in personal care assistance is a plus.
