Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalized care and assistance. This role requires a strong sense of empathy, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and their families.

Responsibilities

Provide direct support and assistance to clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Assist with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met. Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions to appropriate healthcare professionals. Support clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available. Foster a positive relationship with clients by encouraging independence while providing necessary support. Document care provided and any observations regarding client behavior or health status as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Background in home health, nursing home, or group home settings is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Knowledge of meal preparation techniques suitable for diverse dietary needs. Ability to perform patient observation tasks accurately and responsibly. A caring attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality care. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet client requirements.
