Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and group homes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.

Duties

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations to ensure the well-being of clients Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals in care Administer medications as per care plans and assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts Maintain cleanliness in living areas and assist with light housekeeping tasks Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those for dementia or Alzheimer's care Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community resources Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

Previous experience in home health, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges Strong observational skills for monitoring changes in patients' conditions Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, families, and team members A compassionate approach to caregiving that prioritizes the dignity and respect of all individuals
