We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitor patient health, and promote independence while ensuring safety and comfort. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance due to aging, disabilities, or health conditions such as dementia or developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide patient monitoring and observe for any changes in condition or behavior
Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
Utilize assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safety during transfers
Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks
Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care
Support clients with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, using specialized techniques
Document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature accurately
Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community activities when required
Adhere to all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures
Experience
Previous experience working in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or nursing homes is preferred
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia enhances suitability for this role
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards is essential
Prior caregiving experience involving medication administration, care plans, patient observation, and vital signs monitoring is highly desirable
Familiarity with working in environments that require heavy lifting or the use of assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts is advantageous
Experience providing compassionate senior care or long-term care demonstrates a strong foundation for this position
This role requires a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to work independently while following established care protocols. Candidates should be committed to providing respectful and dignified support tailored to each individual's needs.
