Job Summary

Hiring for a Personal Care Assistant - hours are Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 8:30 am, 10 hours a week.

We seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. In this role, you will assist clients in their daily activities, promote their independence, and ensure their well-being in a group home or community setting. Your contributions will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, making a positive impact in their lives.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Provide patient care and support in various settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, or during home health visits. Monitor clients' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel. Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning duties. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs and preferences. Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Document client progress and any incidents accurately for record-keeping.

Requirements

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certification is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges. Strong patient observation skills to monitor changes in behavior or health status effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members. Understanding of care plans and experience in medication administration is advantageous.
