Overview

As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in need. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including home care, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes, while adhering to care plans and maintaining a respectful environment.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' health status. Prepare meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences; assist with meal preparation and cooking. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Assist with medication administration as per care plans and under supervision when necessary. Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices. Engage in patient observation to identify any changes or concerns in health or behavior. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia care requirements. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Qualifications

Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and the ability to perform first aid and CPR is essential. Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality is required. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility assistance. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Certification in caregiving or nursing assistance is advantageous but not mandatory.
