Our Personal Bankers have a critical impact on the bank. You will create key relationships with Simmons Bank customers and prospective customers, and are responsible for making financial recommendations to address their needs. Our Personal Bankers are innovative, personable, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, while engaging customers in conversation that drives relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate passion by building and sharing knowledge of all retail bank products, services and specialty product lines.
  • Listen to and understand your customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs in order to make appropriate recommendations, and engage with customers to present and cross sell products and solutions based on their financial needs.
  • Take responsibility of all functions related to opening and closing accounts, including assisting customers with the appropriate selection of accounts, performing research of customer accounts, and complying with BSA and CIP requirements.
  • Advise customers in order to select appropriate consumer loan products. Maintain knowledge of loan policies and procedures, take applications and key into centralized loan system for underwriting, communicate decision to customer, and close and fund consumer loans. Assist with the branch\xe2\x80\x99s consumer loan portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other associates and lines of business to make referrals in order to meet and/or exceed designated individual and branch goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of the teller line including processing transactions, balancing cash drawer and vault, and basic branch operations functions.
  • Adhere to all company compliance and guidelines. Be knowledgeable of procedures and processes affecting the Personal Banker position. Comply with all security and operations procedures including but not limited to, maintaining dual control functions and company and customer confidentially.
  • Records administration including completing various logs, reports.
  • Ensure all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Skills
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.
    • Ability to maintain simple written correspondence.
    • Ability to read, write, analyze and comprehend simple instructions, financial reports and/or legal documents.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.


Education and/or Experience
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • One-year customer service required
  • One-year sales experience preferred


  • Computer Skills
    • MS Office programs
    • 10-key

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • None.


  • Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)
    • Must be able to communicate well with customers and other associates.
