This position is based in Palmview, Texas. Summary Our values, our vision and our people truly make the difference. As a Personal Banker you would be responsible for building strong customer relationships by providing a range of banking services. This includes opening new accounts, processing and verifying changes to existing accounts, answering customer questions and providing information and/or referring other financial services. providing quality customer service to both existing and potential customers. Provides personal banking services including opening new accounts. Work Schedule This is a full-time position, generally scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 (hours vary) Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (hours vary) Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (generally 1 Saturday per month to assist with customer service phone duty) Essential Duties and Responsibilities New Accounts/Customer Service

  • Open new accounts, explain available financial institution products and services, and gather customer information to process new and existing accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain account paperwork, including signature cards, check orders, debit cards, wire transfers, stop payments, sweeps, and service charges. Process ATM, Debit and ACH dispute forms.
  • Understand and adhere to the bank\xe2\x80\x99s CIP and BSA protocol.
  • Provide courteous, knowledgeable and professional customer service both in person and the telephone.
  • Assist with customer care phone duty as scheduled.
  • Cross-sell products and services to generate new business as appropriate.
  • Handle customer concerns and questions in a tactful and effective manner. Escalate complaints to manager as needed.
  • Make retention and business development calls on existing and potential customers.
  • Participate in public relations and business development activities to promote a favorable image of the bank.
  • Maintain a professional, business-like atmosphere within the banking center.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance
  • Abide by all rules, regulations and Bank policies and procedures including dual control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in a timely manner. Prepare required reports within deadlines.
  • Properly secure negotiables, customer information and bank information.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas to avoid unnecessary hazards.
  • Attend required meetings and complete required training for position within deadlines.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six to 12 months\xe2\x80\x99 previous banking or related experience required. One year Universal Banker or related experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and sales skills required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a working knowledge of banking rules and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure in a high monetary risk environment is essential.

COMPETENCY
: Customer service, sales, teamwork, problem solving/analysis, job knowledge, productivity, dependability, policy compliance, organization and communication proficiency. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBITY: None. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, adding machines and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 5 to 20 pounds. This position involves sitting for long periods of time, frequently viewing a computer monitor and requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp. TRAVEL: Minimal travel to attend staff meetings and trainings on occasion.
