We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Person in Charge (PIC) to oversee daily operations within our retail environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role requires multitasking across various functions including team supervision, inventory control, customer service, and administrative duties. The PIC will be instrumental in maintaining store efficiency, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise staff to ensure smooth store operations and high-quality customer service
Manage employee orientation, training, and development to enhance team performance
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize store presentation
Handle purchasing decisions and manage POS systems for sales transactions
Conduct interviewing and recruiting of new staff to build a competent team
Supervise cash handling, cashiering, and sales management activities
Oversee scheduling, shift management, and ensure adherence to operational policies
Monitor retail math including pricing strategies, sales targets, and budgeting processes
Maintain effective communication with staff and customers to address inquiries and resolve issues
Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and organizational procedures
Skills
Proven leadership with supervising or assistant manager experience in retail or grocery stores
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
Proficiency in inventory control, bookkeeping, payroll, and POS systems
Experience in employee recruitment, training & development, and team management
Skilled in customer service excellence with phone etiquette expertise
Knowledge of retail sales strategies including merchandising, pricing, and marketing
Competent in retail math including cash handling, budgeting, and sales management
Ability to work under pressure with effective time management skills
Organizational skills for managing stock levels, inventory management systems, and administrative tasks
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
