The Perioperative Technical Assistant will possess knowledge and skills necessary to function in the support role of setup and cleanup of supplies and equipment for all operating room/anesthesia cases. The flow of procedures will be facilitated by cleaning surfaces, changing anesthesia circuits, picking/opening supplies, sterilizing equipment and restocking.


Prepares case carts by selecting appropriate instruments, supplies, suture and equipment for procedures. Assists in room turnover by removing used supplies, sending used airway equipment to SPD, cleaning surfaces, replacing anesthesia circuits, checking/replacing sharps containers, discarding trash/suction canisters and restocking. Sets up/troubleshoots anesthesia instrumentation to ensure proper operation prior to use. Displays knowledge of traffic control patterns, aseptic technique, and assists in creating/maintaining a sterile field. Assists in patient positioning, following directions accurately. Transports patients to and from the surgical suite using appropriate precautions for patient safety. Takes initiative to clean and appropriately restock ORs and substerile areas. Maintains cleanliness of operating rooms environment to include damp dusting equipment, cleaning tables and machines and removing unnecessary equipment. Transports non controlled drugs, X-rays, and blood in a timely manner. Transports specimens from the OR to the laboratory and accurately completes the specimen log. Inventories and order supplies on a daily basis to maintain par levels. Stocks the storeroom, operating rooms, substerile/scrub areas and anesthesia carts with supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:




Highschool diploma or GED is required Prior patient care experience preferred Medical Terminology preferred Operating room, central supply, or comparable experience in a related health care field preferred

Salary Range:

Minimum 18.00/hour - Maximum 24.95/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
