Recovery-Friendly Taos is seeking a compassionate and committed

Peer Support Worker

to help advance recovery outcomes by fostering meaningful connections between clients and peers in stable, long-term recovery from substance use and/or co-occurring disorders. This role is rooted in lived experience, mentorship, and the power of hope.

As someone who has successfully navigated their own recovery journey, the Peer Support Worker will serve as a trusted guide--offering encouragement, modeling resilience, and helping clients envision and pursue their own path to wellness.

Key Responsibilities

Build authentic, supportive relationships with program participants grounded in mutual respect and shared experience. Provide advocacy, mentorship, and practical support to help clients identify goals, navigate challenges, and make empowered life choices. Promote personal growth and recovery by focusing on client strengths and fostering self-determination. Conduct outreach and education within the community to engage at-risk populations and raise awareness of recovery resources.
Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED equivalent Basic to intermediate computer skills; strong verbal and written communication Self-identify as a current or former recipient of mental health and/or substance use treatment services Minimum of

three years of stable recovery

(clean and sober) Provide

three-character references

, including confirmation of recovery duration Must possess or obtain

New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW)

credential within six months of hire If already certified, CPSW must be in good standing with current credentials on file
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
