Job Description

The Peer Specialist is an active member of the SI PROS Team and works closely with the program manager. The Peer Specialist will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer supports for participants. The Peer Specialist performs a wide range of tasks to assist participants in regaining independence within the community, learning and practicing new skills, helping participants monitor their progress, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies, supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services, facilitating recovery groups based on established curricula, and assisting participants in any area they require help. The Peer specialist has an important role in supporting the SI PROS community space, ensuring safety and supportive environment. The Peer specialist will assist with meal services at SI PROS.


Additional Requirements


Minimum one year experience in the behavioral health services or in the mental health setting*

Good written and verbal communication skills.*

Good interpersonal skills*

Ability to work as part of a team.*

Sitting for lengthy periods. Ability to move/rearrange group room furniture.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associates, Bachelor's degree or Peer Certificate preferred.

Valid driver's license in good standing preferred


Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, WORD, Excel, PowerPoint) and database navigation required.


Pay: $16-19.50
