The Peer Recovery Coach Internship Program offers a valuable paid internship opportunity for individuals passionate about behavioral health and addiction recovery to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment. This paid internship will work closely with experienced professionals to foster community engagement, promote wellness, and assist clients in achieving their recovery goals. The program emphasizes professional growth, skill development, and meaningful contribution to the field of behavioral health. We are hiring for two positions,
with the first round of interviews being held on DECEMBER 30, 2025.
The position will be shared between Kennebec County Correctional Facility and Lifeline for ME, LLC, each in Augusta.
Qualifications
Lived experience with SUD and/or incarceration (preferred)
Strong interest in behavioral health, mental health counseling, or social work fields
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with diverse populations
CCAR Recovery Coaching (preferred - training provided)
Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times
Motivated self-starter eager to learn and grow within the behavioral health field
Prior coaching is advantageous
