Overview
The teacher creates a positive, engaging classroom where all students become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and collaborators. Teachers maintain a safe, supportive environment and build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Essential Functions
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach courses aligned with the Utah State Core Curriculum and District standards.
Deliver instruction using approved resources and instructional materials.
Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that promote inquiry, creativity, and collaboration.
Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance instruction; demonstrate strong tech skills.
Teach civil responsibilities and citizenship as part of student development.
Administer standardized tests according to state and district procedures.
Student Assessment & Progress
Assess and document student academic and social growth; communicate progress regularly with students and families.
Record and monitor student attendance accurately.
Classroom Management & Environment
Maintain high standards for student behavior and a positive classroom culture; serve as a role model for students.
Collaboration & Professional Engagement
Work as an active member of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and faculty teams to support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students.
Participate in required meetings, professional development, and evaluation processes.
Demonstrate professional and ethical standards as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission (UPPAC).
Communication Skills
Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid
Utah Educator License
(Associate or Professional) in the relevant area.

via the Utah State Board of Education Applicant must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal background check.
NOTE: The Administration reserves the right to require specific training for this position. However, depending upon the type and quality of prior work experience and availability of formal training programs, some exchanges can be made between training and experience.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to speak, hear, stand, walk, reach, bend or kneel.
Occasionally required to use hands for fine motor tasks, climb, or balance.
Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs in some lab/CTE/Art settings).
Requires close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as depth perception.
Must possess the physical, mental, and emotional capacity to manage deadlines, evaluations, and challenging situations.
Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
