Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration accurately.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as necessary.
- Support residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and positive environment.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident living areas and common spaces.
- Adhere to all established systems, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for their needs.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents safely using proper techniques and equipment.
- Understanding of social work principles and the ability to provide emotional support to residents.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
