This is a full-time position based out of our Collins, MS processing plant. This position primarily services the four separate facilities in the Collins area, but could also include other nearby locations if necessary. This position would support daily IT Department business operations of the Collins processing plant, hatchery, child care facility, and feed mill.

PC APPLICATION SPECIALIST THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN COLLINS, MS PRIMARY FUNCTION : *Support computer and network users by providing assistance in solving configuration and operational issues and performing problem determination and problem source determination for reported problems with hardware and software. *Assists Network Manager LAN/WAN in network support. Provides support and training for all PC users. *Perform hardware, software and wiring installation for all network users. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES : *Installs new PC peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners and modems. *Installs new PC software and modify it to suit users\' needs. *Assists with the diagnostics and repair of microcomputers, workstations, and networking hardware. *Connects users to a Local Area Network (LAN) and IBM i5 and maintain shared resources such as printers and file back-ups. *Provides support for LAN systems including the establishment, configuration, use, troubleshooting and support of such systems. *Trains users on the most productive way to use PC and LAN applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases and electronic mail. *Isolates user problems with PC hardware and software as the first line of support and, if necessary, contact equipment vendors for additional support. *Assists in recommending and purchasing new hardware and software. *Assists in customizing and fine tuning PC/LAN systems which may involve programming using batch files, scripts, macros, database language or system programming language. *Assists Network Manager LAN/WAN in other areas of support and information as needed. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS : *Reports administratively to Network Manager LAN/WAN who provides general supervision and guidance concerning the nature and scope of work and makes specific assignments. *Works in team effort with Network Manager LAN/WAN and other members of the Information Systems Department to provide effective services of the Department. *Working knowledge of microcomputer hardware and software. *Ability to determine a path of action to complete assigned tasks when given only general instructions. *Strong working knowledge of PC/LAN tools including spreadsheets, work processors, presentation graphics, databases and auxiliary PC/LAN related hardware and software and related technology tools. *Ability to communicate effectively with all different levels of people and a customer service mentality. *Identifies with values, philosophy, and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc. POSITION REQUIREMENTS : ACADEMIC : Junior College Degree in Computer Science Data Processing or equivalent. EXPERIENCE : One to two years of PC/Network experience and A+ certification preferred. PHYSICAL : Able to work in various temperatures. Able to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, twist and kneel. Able to lift 10lbs or more, utilizing proper lifting techniques. Able to sit for long periods of time, including use of a keyboard. Able to meet the criteria of the DOT Motor Vehicle Records.
