Job Description



Job Specifications/Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Observes SMH dress code. Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective manner. Clear and courteous speaking manner.

  • Operates multiple position telephone switchboards to relay incoming and out going calls
  • Complete knowledge of the hospital beeper system.
  • Knowledge of hospital departments, services, and visitation policies.
  • Ability to use the hospital computer system to locate patients and enter department charges.
  • Maintains accurate ambulance log and confirms correct charges.
  • Respects confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Light filing duties within the department
  • Knows to follow universal precautions for infection control.

Education

Preferred
  • High School or better
  • GED or better
