The Payroll/Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all payroll and accounts payable functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by managing employee compensation and vendor payments efficiently. The manager will implement best practices and continuously improve processes to optimize operational effectiveness. They will collaborate closely with HR, accounting, and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this position ensures that all payroll and accounts payable activities support the organization's financial goals and maintain positive relationships with employees and suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable management or a similar financial role.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now, accounts payable processes, and relevant tax and labor laws.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Exceptional organization, analytical, problem-solving solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with complex payroll structures.
Familiarity with construction accounting concepts and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee salaries, bonuses, and deductions using ADP Workforce Now for approximately 180 employees.
Works with our Project Management Team to manage purchase orders.
Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to resolve payroll discrepancies, audit payroll data, and prepare reports for management.
Maintain and improve payroll and accounts payable systems and processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
