General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in supporting the needs of the Payroll Operations team and the Company\xe2\x80\x99s four subsidiaries. This position will help drive projects to improve Payroll processes and be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing. Critical to this role is the ability to provide daily support and an interest in working on a range of projects.

Key Skills and Abilities include:

  • Experience in working or partnering with a Payroll Team in developing roadmaps, defining business processes and associated system requirements
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert resource on best practices and domain knowledge in Muti-State US Payroll Space
  • Experience in Payroll Systems and Operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create reports that present data in a clear and concise manner
  • Broad understanding of Payroll business processes

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
  • Responsible for the end-to-end processing of Weekly US multi-state payroll ranging from 1500 to 3000 employees
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of approved timesheets
  • Provide payroll customer service in the areas of paycheck calculations, garnishments, deductions, special payments related to bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, paycheck reissues, and withholding
  • Ownership of Termination processing \xe2\x80\x93 understanding Termination rules and requirements for Continental US, Hawaii, and Alaska
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Benefits and HRIS in matters regarding Benefit Deductions, Leave of Absence, and 401K/401K Roth deferred compensation
  • Report data to third-party vendors in areas of paycheck printing, garnishment processing, and banking
  • Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to APA policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations
  • Research and complete Verification of Employment (VOE) inquiries upon request
  • Responsible for incoming mail distribution and log for Payroll Employment Taxes
  • Assist in payroll tax audit and research/data analysis and data integrity as needed
  • Processing Off-Cycle payroll for Weekly US employees as needed
  • Assist in special projects as needed
Compensation and Benefits:
  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base pay for this position ranges from $31.39 to $39.18. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, company vehicle, vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
