Job Summary:



The Payroll and Benefits Associate is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, maintaining employee records, and administering benefits programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and company regulations while serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits.


Key Responsibilities:




Payroll Duties:


Collect and verify employee timesheets and payroll data.

Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions.

Enter payroll information into the system and maintain accurate records.

Process new hires, promotions, terminations, and changes in employee status.

Issue paychecks or manage direct deposit payments and distribute earnings statements.

Prepare and distribute annual W-2 forms and assist with payroll audits.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.

Generate payroll reports for management and accounting departments.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and wage regulations.

Benefits Duties:


Facilitate benefits enrollment and administrative processes.

Prepare and process claims, changes, and other benefits filings.

Coordinate informational sessions and provide enrollment materials to employees.

Maintain and update employee benefits records.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

Assist with the administration of leave policies including vacation, sick leave, and personal time.

Coordinate and manage annual Open Enrollment activities, including distributing materials, assisting employees with selections, and updating benefit elections in the system.

Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:




High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.

1-3 years of experience in payroll or benefits administration.

Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
