Robertson Construction, a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) and a leading general contractor in Central Ohio's commercial construction industry, is seeking an experienced

Payroll Administrator

to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Heath, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in payroll systems, strong organization skills and a solid understanding of financial concepts. The Payroll Administrator will work closely with the HR department and other financial teams to support the overall operations of the organization.

Responsibilities



Process and administer weekly payroll in Viewpoint software for approximately 200 employees, including reviewing timecards, preparing direct deposits, and ensuring all deadlines are met. Manage all payroll-related items such as taxes, withholdings, unemployment, workers' compensation, employee deductions, and 401(k) contributions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws. Prepare and file Federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on-time. Perform account reconciliation and manager general ledger accounting related to payroll transactions. Handle data entry tasks related to payroll adjustments, deductions and benefits enrollment. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues promptly and professionally. Track and maintain employee vacation and sick leave balances. Maintain accurate employee wage, benefit, and personnel data in Viewpoint software. Manage online banking processes for payroll transactions and positive pay reports. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements. Administer prevailing wage rates and prepare certified payroll reports for public projects. Enter new projects into the Viewpoint accounting system, ensuring proper setup of payroll and tax information. Process employee expense reimbursements, monthly vehicle allowances, and quarterly HSA company contributions. Collaborate closely with Human Resources on onboarding processes to ensure accurate data entry into Viewpoint software. Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify trends or discrepancies that may require corrective action by management. Prepare and process annual W-2s and ACA 1095 forms, including timely filing with the IRS. Support annual audits through detailed reconciliations, schedules, and analysis. Participate in other company projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Minimum

5 years of payroll and related accounting experience

. Proven experience in payroll management with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency with accounting and payroll software, as well as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with employees across various departments. High attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks. Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop and improve processes and internal controls. Dependable, professional, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Base Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
