The Payroll Accountant is responsible for performing payroll accounting duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff.
Responsible for responding to staff regarding their inquiries on paychecks and payroll related deductions.
Responsible for preparing payment requests for retroactive payroll adjustments (i.e.holiday payment and excess sick time on employee anniversary) and manual check for employee termination.
Responsible for preparing support of employee certifications for federal grant.
Responsible for preparing general journal entries to record end of month payroll based on salary distribution spreadsheets and manual and void checks.
Responsible for preparing the annual schedule of unused staff vacation and excess sick balances for year-end closing journal entries.
Assists with the annual physical inventory of fixed assets.
Assists with the annual independent audit and Worker's Compensation audit.
Actively participates in the Quality Management Program.
Responsible for following all Agency safety and health standards, regulations, procedures, policies, and practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Two years Accounting Assistant experience
Two years college related courses
* High school diploma
