Job Description

Full-time, 72 hours/pay period

Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, one consistent day off per pay period

Will rotate working at various clinic locations.



This position is responsible for appropriately scheduling patients (in-person or by phone) who are in need of diagnostic services, outpatient clinic services, surgical/procedure scheduling or interpreter services in a manner which corresponds to the satisfaction of the customer and in accordance with the healthcare facility's scheduling requirements. This position will serve as a resource to providers and customers in coordinating internal and external appointments, testing, referrals and related needs. This position works with clinic personnel, patients, other medical facilities, and insurance companies to ensure that quality health care is provided in an efficient manner. This position works under the direction of Manager of Patient Services.

Key Job Duties:

Schedule internal and external tests, procedures, surgeries and consultations accurately. Schedule interpreter services. Encourage and support patients and families to actively participate in their care, assist them in communicating with their providers and other healthcare professionals. Coordinate external facility scheduling; provide maps, transportation arrangements and assist with release and transfer of information. Communicate test preparation and patient education instructions to patients. Use appropriate teaching tools, resources and language for patients. Manage all phases of the patient encounter. Demonstrate insurance knowledge, prior authorizations, managed care processes and electronic health records. Demonstrate knowledge of computer operation and support nursing staff and providers. Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work cooperatively with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team. Effective communication and organizational skills. Computer skills including proficient keyboard skills, use of email and internet. Ability to work independently and with decentralized teams to meet goals and prioritize tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and adapt to frequent change.

Preferred:

Healthcare office experience




Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.

Benefits & Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $18.25-$25.55, initial pay based on relevant work experience.
