We are seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join our healthcare team. Duties
Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification using NextGen
Schedule patient appointments and manage clinic calendars efficiently
Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; process payments through medical billing systems
Review and update patient records ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with documentation review, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing processes
Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; respond to patient inquiries promptly
Manage medical records filing, data entry, and maintain organized documentation in accordance with health information management standards
Support insurance claim submissions and follow-up on unpaid claims or denials
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards
Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient experience and satisfaction
Requirements
Proven experience in a medical office setting, including front desk or medical receptionist roles
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare/insurance billing procedures
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10 key typing), and office management software
Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Experience with insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and health information management
Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of dental terminology and dental office procedures is a plus for dental clinic environments
Prior clinic or hospital experience preferred but not required
