The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world\'s most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. The primary purpose of the Patient Representative is to provide oversight for the patient/visitor screening and process. Impacts department operations and institutional patient satisfaction programs.

Key Functions

• Assists patients, families and visitors with solving hospital-related problems.
• Identifies system problems that cause customer dissatisfaction and complaints and advocates a plan for improvement.
• Supervises patient/visitor entry sites and ensures all hospital policies and procedures are followed.

Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Bachelor\'s degree.

Preferred:Bachelor\'s degree in foreign language, social science, psychology, human relations or related field.

Experience

Required:One year of customer service or related experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred:Two years experience in a hospital setting. Verbal fluency in two or more languages (English being one of the languages).

Licensure/Certification

Required: None.

Preferred: Certification in adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

Must pass a pre-employment test as required and administered by Human Resources.
