The Patient Financial Coordinator

works closely with the social work department with providing patient support, maximizing the social and emotional functioning and adjustment to dialysis. They provide patients with information and assistance in obtaining eligible insurance coverage and monitors the patients' coverage to make sure coverage is maintained.

Schedule:

Full-time, five 8-hour shifts starting at 8am

Responsibilities:

What You Can Expect:

Collect insurance coverage information on all new patients. Communicate with the Account Receivable Bookkeeper the insurance information. Provide patients with information on their insurance coverage as it relates to dialysis and/or transplant charges. Assist patients applying for eligible health insurance coverage, Financial Analysis Forms, and/or Medicare forms. Attends monthly meetings for Accounts Receivable team, Social Workers team, and Staff Meeting for assigned home clinic. Assists with patient surveys (e.g. SF-36 Health Status Survey, DCI Clinic Report Card, and Vocational Rehab Survey). Serves as back up to Patient Insurance and Support Programs Coordinator. Identifies patient need for AKF or other assistance programs and community resources. Assist with completing applications, as needed. Completes Medicaid Transportation Orders and Trip Requests for applicable patients. Completes patient medication prior approvals/authorizations for medications prescribed by DCI Medical Directors. Works in collaboration with the LMSW, nursing staff, and physicians in team review of patient progress.

Education/Training:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Should have functional knowledge of general office equipment and possess a working knowledge Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
