The Trinity Health Ann Arbor Emergency Department (ED) provides comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages treating approximately 85,000 patients annually in our 64-bed unit The ED offers a full range of services, from treating acute conditions to minor injuries and illnesses The ED offers specialized care to both pediatric and geriatric patients. A dedicated pediatric unit, staffed with pediatricians and pediatric emergency nurses, is open 14 hours a day. Specialized geriatric care and screening is provided to senior patients age 65 years and older in a specially designed geriatric area 16 hours a day

Minimum Rate of Pay

$16.29 (plus Daily Pay option - receive your pay any time before pay day!)



Shifts Available

12-hour shifts (7p-7a)



Status Available

Full-time, Part-time

Every other weekend and every other holiday per year is required for full time and part time colleagues



Required Education/Experience/Licensure



High School diploma or GED Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program

Position Purpose

The ER Tech, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. Assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.



What You Will Do



Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success Assist patient in completing ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation (using assistive devices) and feeding/menu selection Collect and send specimens, including blood and blood cultures, inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters. Responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation requirements
