Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Patient Accounts Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient accounts, ensuring accurate billing, and facilitating the collection of payments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records effectively. The Patient Accounts Representative will contribute to the overall efficiency of our billing department while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Duties

Manage patient accounts by verifying insurance information and processing claims accurately. Conduct follow-ups on outstanding accounts and facilitate medical collections as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to patient accounts or billing inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding their accounts and payment options.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records management. Experience in medical collection processes and familiarity with coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9. Previous experience in medical billing or coding is preferred but not mandatory. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in account management. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 - 40 per week
