Kartesz Eye Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our growing healthcare team. This vital role involves managing patient interactions at the front desk, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and efficient scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and exceptional customer service abilities. Bilingual proficiency and clinic experience are highly valued to support diverse patient populations and streamline office operations.
Responsibilities
Greet patients professionally and provide excellent customer service at the front desk
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using Trizetto, Availity, and Vision Plan portals
Collect co-pays and outstanding balances through accurate medical billing procedures, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and documentation review
Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
Assist with intake processes, including data entry and typing of medical documentation using Microsoft Office and 10-key typing skills
Verify insurance information for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans, and other payers
Support medical office management tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining medical records
Ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and documentation handling
Provide administrative support for clinic operations, including front desk duties and office management tasks
Requirements
Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental office experience preferred
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and typing (10-key)
Excellent phone etiquette with experience managing multi-line phone systems
Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and health information management
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
Strong customer service orientation with professional communication skills in person and over the phone
