Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team. This role involves managing patient interactions, verifying insurance, light recrutiment work using social media sites, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within a busy medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to enhance patient service delivery and office efficiency.

Duties



Greet patients professionally and provide excellent customer service at the front desk Verify insurance coverage and benefits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and other EHR platforms Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software Collect co-pays and outstanding balances through efficient medical billing practices Review and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist patients with intake procedures, including documentation review and data entry using multi-line phone systems and typing skills Manage insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance plans, including CPT and ICD coding for billing purposes Facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff regarding care plans and appointment details Maintain accurate filing of medical records, documentation review, and health information management Support administrative functions such as office management, filing, and handling multi-line phone systems

Qualifications



Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental office experience preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft is highly desirable Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and efficiently Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal communication abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills (10 key typing) Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
