Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced and passionate Head Baker/Pastry Chef to lead our baking operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values quality above all, and can inspire a team to maintain the highest standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Bakery Leadership and Operations
Oversee all baking operations for markets and catering
Lead by example, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and professionalism
Conduct frequent daily equipment checks to ensure proper and safe operation
Baking Production
Prepare and bake pastries, chia pudding, oats, desserts, and baked goods according to Aneu recipes.
Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, portion size, and presentation
Fulfill orders for wholesale and all locations
Recipe Development and Quality Control
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to create new and innovative recipes.
Test and adjust recipes to maximize taste, quality, and profitability
Develop products for the Yeu brand line
Financial Management
Maintain and manage food and labor costs for bakery operations
Take full accountability for bakery cost management and efficiency
Inventory Management
Manage bakery inventory and proactively communicate supply needs to prevent stockouts.
Ensure proper stock rotation and minimize waste
Team Management
Supervise and train baking staff on recipes, techniques, and standards
Assign daily tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and quality
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of professional baking/pastry experience
At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards
Proven ability to manage food and labor costs
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work early morning hours and weekends as needed
ServSafe or Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
Culinary degree or formal pastry training
Experience with health-conscious or specialty dietary products
Experience in high-volume production environments
Knowledge of wholesale and catering operations
Creative flair for recipe development and innovation
