Job Title: Passenger Driver

Department: All

Reports To: Assistant Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay rate:

$19-19.77 per hour,

Part-time, 10-20 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Benefits include a monthly health bonus and paid sick leave.

Terms of Payment:

Work hours to be recorded on an ongoing basis on Bamboo HR timesheet software, due weekly on Friday.

The Driver plays a vital role in bringing RICS' programs to life and ensuring that community members can access the support they need. By providing safe, reliable transportation in our 12-passenger vans, the Driver helps participants overcome barriers, stay connected, and fully engage in programs and services that foster belonging and empowerment.

In addition to transporting clients between their homes and RICS program sites, the Driver may also pick up and deliver essential items directly to participants, helping families meet daily needs and easing challenges of resettlement. The Driver prioritizes safety and care at all times, ensuring that every ride is welcoming and smooth.

The position also includes responsibility for vehicle care, such as checking mileage and engine lights and maintaining cleanliness, so that transportation remains dependable for all who rely on it.

The Driver is part of a team dedicated to strengthening our community, supporting refugee and immigrant families, and helping participants feel at home.

Responsibilities:

Safely transports clients and program materials

Organizes program materials and coordinates with other program staff as needed

Aids in interpretation and translation of materials as needed

Keeps the organization van(s) clean, maintained, and ensures there is always fuel in the tank

Checks safety of the van before and after each use, including fuel and body/engine issues, which, when arise, reports to the director.

Prepares for any emergency situations that may arise - health emergencies, travel sickness, accident, road rage, hate crimes, etc.

Uses the incident report as needed

Job Requirements

Has excellent communication skills

Highly dependable and consistent

Able to routinely lift 40 lbs.

Has driver's license and clean driving record

Able to pass a background check

Has personal experience as a refugee or immigrant preferred

Bi- or multilingual preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $19.77 per hour
