Job Description

NxtGen Security is a Massachusetts-based private security company that provides professional on site security for residential, commercial, and educational clients across the state. We are hiring a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for an evening and weekend assignment at a private school campus in Weston, MA. The officer will support after-hours athletics and facility rentals, with the opportunity for additional hours and long term growth within the company.

This role is a good fit for someone who is reliable, detail oriented, comfortable working independently, and confident interacting with families, coaches, and rental groups in a professional manner.

Schedule

Part-time position starting in early December 2025 Evening and weekend shifts, with some weekday coverage as needed Hours generally align with after-school and weekend facility rentals Schedule may change based on the rental calendar and season Additional hours at other NxtGen Security locations may be available based on performance and scheduling
Specific site schedule and facility details will be discussed with candidates during the interview stage.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a professional, visible security presence at the school's athletic and rental facilities after hours Monitor parking areas and ensure vehicles are parked only in approved locations Control access to gyms and other rental spaces, ensuring only authorized groups and participants enter Greet rental coordinators, coaches, and guests and confirm they are scheduled to use the facility Help enforce site rules, including staying within designated areas and respecting nearby residences and school property Conduct periodic patrols of the facility, including parking lots, entrances, and surrounding areas Monitor doors and access points, ensuring appropriate doors are secured during and after events Respond to any alarm activations or incidents in line with post orders and company protocols Ensure spaces are cleared at the end of the rental period and that groups do not extend beyond their allotted time Confirm lights are off and designated doors are locked and secured at the end of the shift Complete clear and accurate written shift reports and communicate any issues to NxtGen supervisors

Requirements

Prior security, public safety, law enforcement, military, or customer-facing experience preferred Professional appearance and demeanor Strong situational awareness and ability to remain attentive during routine periods Comfortable enforcing parking and facility rules in a calm and respectful manner Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and conduct exterior patrols in varying weather conditions Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license required Reliable smartphone capable of sending emails and completing digital shift reports Must pass a CORI background check Availability for evenings and weekends is required
