EcoRobotik Learning Center in Glendale, AZ, is dedicated to fostering environmental sustainability through hands-on robotics and educational programs. We provide daytime, evening, and weekend STEM programs to students, empowering them to develop and implement robotic solutions for environmental challenges. Position Summary:
We're seeking a passionate and engaging part-time Coach (Teacher) to inspire and educate students in robotics and STEM concepts. The Coach will facilitate hands-on learning experiences, guide students through project-based activities, and foster a collaborative and creative learning environment. Additionally, this role will involve managing some office functions to ensure the smooth operation of the Learning Center. This role requires a dynamic individual with some teaching or facilitation experience, strong organizational skills, a strong interest in STEM education, a commitment to environmental sustainability, and comfort with basic administrative tasks.
This part-time role is intended for 20-25 hours/week. Currently, our highest need staffing windows are:
Instruction and Facilitation:
Deliver engaging lessons and facilitate activities in robotics, programming, science, and environmental concepts.
Guide students in the design, building, and programming of robots.
Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Safety and Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
Enforce safety protocols and guidelines.
Manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions.
Office and Administrative Support:
Respond to parent inquiries via email and phone.
Maintain records and communication logs via our student information system.
Assist parents with registration and other functions in the Parent Portal.
Organize and maintain office supplies and learning materials.
Maintain general cleanliness of the Learning Center.
Support the coordination of center events and workshops.
Perform other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Some experience in teaching or facilitating educational activities for elementary and/or middle school students.
Experience working with school age robotic programs, such as TinkerCad (3D Design, Circuits and Codeblocks) Arduino UNO, Micro:bit, Vex Robotics, First Robotics, or similar robotics platforms.
Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities.
Strong interest in STEM education, particularly robotics and environmental science.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Comfort and proficiency with basic office tasks and software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to pass a background check and obtain a valid fingerprint clearance card (if one is not already held).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching robotics or programming.
Knowledge of environmental science concepts.
Experience in the development and adaptation of curriculum materials.
