Join our vibrant team as a Part-time Counter Server at our family owned BBQ Restaurant Bar and Grill. This position is a tipped position with a whole house tip pool averaging and extra $6-$8 per hour on top of your hourly. Hourly starts at $16 and grows from there. We are looking for a couple people for evening shifts, 4pm-9pm Monday-Friday, and availability on Saturdays. We are closed Sundays.
We will be opening for breakfast starting in January and there will be more hours available.
Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, providing a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they walk through the door.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
Manage tables effectively by bussing, resetting, and ensuring cleanliness throughout service.
Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments via POS systems.
Maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation regulations.
Assist in food preparation or kitchen support as needed, demonstrating culinary knowledge and food industry awareness.
Provide excellent guest relations by responding promptly to inquiries, resolving issues professionally, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.
Support openTable reservations management for smooth seating flow during busy hours.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service delivery in both fine dining settings and lively nightclub atmospheres when applicable.
Skills
Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on guest services.
Familiarity with POS systems
Strong customer service skills with an energetic approach to hospitality.
Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest interactions.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts.
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
Basic math skills for cash handling, cashiering, and transaction accuracy.
Experience with serving in fine dining or nightclub settings is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment supporting bussing, hosting/host duties, or kitchen assistance when needed.
