Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, providing knowledgeable product information and demonstrations to enhance their experience Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts issuance Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to maximize sales opportunities Maintain attractive merchandise displays by merchandising products effectively and restocking shelves regularly Conduct stock checks, organize inventory, and assist with stocking to ensure product availability and store presentation standards are met Provide excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely Support cashiering duties with basic math calculations for transactions and refunds Assist in supervising team members when needed, contributing to a collaborative store environment Demonstrate products through engaging demos to educate customers about features and benefits Ensure compliance with safety protocols and store policies during all activities

Requirements

Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments where customer service is key Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not required Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and standing for extended periods Excellent phone etiquette skills for professional customer interactions over the phone or in person Basic math skills for cash register operations, refunds, and inventory counts Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
