Bleuler Psychotherapy Center (BPC), a growing organization providing whole person care in the region, is in search of passionate individuals to join our rapidly growing team! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to lead and optimize client healthcare. The Registered Nurse works with a team of professional clinicians, peers, prescribers and others to ensure integrated care for children and adults experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder. As a member of the client care team, the RN will establish therapeutic relationships in order to facilitate client progress with treatment goals. To be effective, the RN will have the demonstrated ability to balance independent clinical decision making with appropriate consultation from prescribers and work with a multi-disciplinary team to engage, establish, and achieve appropriate treatment goals. Reporting to the Medical Director, the RN has overall client healthcare responsibility for two of Bleuler Psychotherapy NYS-licensed Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Service (MHOTRS-article 31) program and one Substance Use program located in Forest Hills and Jackson Heights, Queens. The RN is responsible for providing client care and supporting our prescribers.
The position requires the Registered Nurse to not only have clinical operations, but also to adapt to the evolving MHOTRS structure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assessment of clients, families and community health needs.
Maintain quality nursing care, nursing notes and plans.
Perform necessary nursing procedures, i.e., injections (vitamins, medications, vaccines, etc.)
Provide client education and counseling.
Provide smoking cessation education and prevention.
Coordinate special clinical training as needed.
Participate and coordinate on- and off-site screening projects.
Be familiar with emergency procedures and protocols.
Be familiar with Clinical policies and programs. Help develop and/or update any needed policies.
Assist prescribers with pre-authorization requests.
Pull I-STOP report weekly or as requested.
Client Health Monitoring.
Perform wellness checks as needed/guided.
Assist with the compilation of health statistics.
Assist with providing appointment reminders and follow-up calls to clients who miss their appointments with the prescriber (no-show).
Review and confirm client regimens, including medication reconciliation.
Document vitals, client interactions, lab results, treatment plans, procedures performed, etc.
Take and record client height and weight measurements.
In collaboration with the prescribers, complete treatment plan for clients on medication management only every 180-days (6-months) or sooner, if needed.
Ensure all consultation and treatment rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies.
Collaborate with the billing department to address failed claims activity.
Float between clinics as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.
Must have three years' clinical experience with an emphasis in working with clients who have mental health, and or dually diagnosed disease disorders.
Enrolled in NYC Medicaid/Medicare as a provider.
Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification required
Knowledge of working with mental illnesses in children, adolescents, and the adult population.
Knowledge and fluency with EHR modules and reports.
Proficient with computer technology including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn applications needed for recordkeeping and generating reports.
Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues.
Must have knowledge of HIPAA regulations, all federal & NYS State client privacy regulations/laws, and health information-applicable state regulations.
Must demonstrate ability to develop, evaluate, and act on analytical information.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred but not required.

Deliver care to clients who are often dealing with multiple co-morbidities which require unique treatment plans and the ability to leverage a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge.
Ability to engage clients via email, text, phone and video.

Proficient with electronic medical records, Microsoft Suites, and other applications.
