Job Summary:

Wonder Workshop Children's Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Program Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages and is excited to create an engaging, safe, and memorable experience for visitors, helping to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning:

Create programming for Preschool Explorations, Discovery Days, Afterschool Club, Special Events during Open Hours and Think Big Summer Camp. Programming should be in alignment with Wonder Workshop's vision to create a hands-on, interactive, engaging and unique experience for all kiddos. Experiences and activities should be designed to inspire creativity and discovery outside of the traditional classroom.

Program Execution:

Lead Preschool Explorations, which will include two sessions per week during Open Hours. Facilitate weekday Open Hours, by welcoming and assisting families as they explore museum exhibits, ensuring a positive visitor experience. In coordination with staff, help lead Discovery Days and Think Big Summer Camp.

Preferred

: Be available as a potential substitute for Afterschool Wonder, Saturday Open Hours and birthday parties.

Requirements:

A genuine love for working with children and families in diverse and interactive settings. A passion for creating unique, educational and memorable experiences for children and families. Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues effectively. Physical ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting and extended periods of movement. Dependable, adaptable, and capable of balancing multiple responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in education, recreation, or childcare roles. Skills in classroom management or group facilitation. Creativity and enthusiasm for delivering hands-on STEAM experiences. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Work Schedule:

Part-time, about 15-18 hours per week Firm schedule during school year is Wednesday-Friday: 9am-12:30pm with flexible schedule for planning hours Availability for Discovery Days (USD 383 No Class Days) from 7:30am-5:30pm Additional availability for on-call summer camp assistance/coverage and weekend birthday party events is strongly preferred.
