Part-time, Para-Professional needed for the Grand Island Head Start. Wage is $15.13 per hour with a $1.00 pay differential for those with an A.A. in ECE. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education Preferred. Benefits include paid time off and on going training opportunities available.

The Para-Professional is responsible for working in a team environment to assist the Teacher and classroom employees in providing support for educational activities, meals, classroom management, and other classroom activities in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards.

Utilize developmentally appropriate classroom activities for children.

Encourage parents to participate in the program in a variety of ways that fit their skills and time. Collect in-kind related to this participation.

Enter GOLD observations resulting in a minimum of one anecdote per child per item each period.

Assist families in a variety of ways including but not limited to; connecting with resources, making referrals, sharing information about their child's day, translating documents and interpreting.
