Compensation:

$25-30/hour

Schedule:

?? Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM ?? Approximately 30-35 hours/week (open to 25 hours or up to 40 for the right fit) ?? Flexibility to assist when older children are home from school (school breaks or sick days; additional pay provided those days)

Description:

A warm, hands-on family in West Islip is seeking a

nanny with strong newborn experience

to primarily care for their new baby while helping maintain a smooth household routine. Mom works from home and recently welcomed her third child in September. The family previously had a live-in nanny and an au pair and is now looking for an experienced, active, and reliable nanny who can grow with them long term.
This role is mostly focused on the baby during the day, while the two older children (in 1st grade and kindergarten) are at school. The ideal nanny will be confident with infants, capable of managing daily routines and milestones, and comfortable in a busy, family-oriented home.

Responsibilities:

All care related to the baby (feeding, diapering, naps, developmental play) Assisting mom with scheduling naps, feedings, and transitions to solids Helping with baby laundry, bottles, and tidying nursery Light household help (tidying kids' rooms, making beds, organizing play areas, folding children's laundry) Preparing simple kids' snacks or easy meals (mac and cheese, pasta, etc.) -- no family cooking required Occasional outings with baby (library, park) as the baby gets older Supporting developmental milestones, routines, and gentle structure Comfortable working in a home with extended family present (mother-in-law lives in the home)

? Requirements:

Strong newborn and infant experience (nap schedules, milestones, feeding routines) Active and physically capable of carrying and caring for a baby safely Dependable and comfortable working alongside a stay-at-home/work-from-home mom Able to take initiative and "see what needs to be done" around the house Reliable transportation (must arrive on time daily) Comfortable in a lively, loud, family-oriented Italian household

No pets in the home (mom has allergies; peanut- and sesame-free household)

Non-smoker Long-term mindset, ideally 1 year commitment Preferably someone without young children of their own, or with grown children Must be comfortable with flexible hours or days as needed
