Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for a 41 year old male in North Portland looking for help Tuesday mornings from 9am-1pm with possibility of more hours in the future. Client appreciates bike rides In his spare time, Gardening, BBQing, spending time with his spouse and playing music. He is needing help with reminders, schedules and role modeling for laundry, housework upkeep, and establishing cleaning routines around the home. They are also working on establishing healthy eating habits and limiting spending for unnecessary items. This is a hoarder home so DSP would need to be someone who is motivated, not easily discouraged and is really driven for organization.. DSP should also have experience, being looking to work long term with client and be someone who can bring fresh energy and motivation to cleaning up a messy home as well as someone who is interested in helping to better the quality of life at home. DSP does not need to be able to drive but does need to be ok with cats.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities and those experiencing dementia, ensuring their unique needs are met. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interactions and participation in community activities. Maintain documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations and resident rights. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate personnel. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset. Familiarity with resident rights and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed. Previous experience as a nurse or in a healthcare-related field is a plus but not required.
