DEFINITION
Under direct or general supervision, oversees Community Services activities in connection with a Community Service program, activity or service, and performs other related work as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Part-Time Community Services Leader
has the responsibility for overseeing established Community Service programs and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Incumbents are expected to use independent judgment in programs, recreational facility operations, or general office duties, and assist higher-level staff in planning and implementing recreational programs and special events.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED
Incumbents receive general supervision from a Part-Time Senior Community Services Leader, Part-Time Community Services Coordinator, or Community Services Supervisor.

Oversees and supervises recreational programs and activities
Maintains safety and program discipline
Supervises activities in community parks, community centers, and sports center
Provides customer service
Responds to requests, complaints, and inquiries from class instructors, rental groups, and the public
Ensures the safety of the public and staff by inspecting and maintaining facilities and equipment
Monitors facility use; opens, closes, and secures building for events and assists in supervision and preparation of the facility and amenities for patron use
Issues and collects recreation equipment and supplies
Prepares reports and maintains a variety of logs, records, and files related to assigned activities
May perform cashing duties, maintain adequate change, prepare deposits, and balance register
May perform general office duties including answering telephones, greeting the public, computer work, including data entry, processing mail, and filing
May be assigned as a Disaster Service Worker in the event of a disaster or emergency
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements

Sufficient education, training and/or experience to perform the required duties of a
Part-Time Community Services Leader.
EDUCATION/TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of education, training and experience which likely provides the required knowledge and abilities
Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade
Experience providing recreation or leisure services is desirable
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
(positions in this class typically require) Possession of Basic CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate within 60 days of date of hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Pursuant to the California Public Response Code 5164, all applicants for positions involving supervisory or disciplinary authority over a minor must complete and submit a CPR Code 5164
Applicants under the age of 18, who are required to attend school, must provide a California Worker's Permit.

You will receive $1.00 /hour for any hours worked between (9pm -7am).
+ In addition, you will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times your regular hourly rate for any hours worked on a City recognized holiday. Sick hour accrual - 1 hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked beginning on the first day of employment.
The City does not participate in Social Security, but does withhold 1.45% of wages for Medicare taxes.

These funds will be deposited in an account set up for you that will earn tax-free interest at a rate set up every quarter, based upon current interest rates.
