Job Summary

Seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for a 11 year old boy in Beaverton looking for help Mon.-Thurs. 3pm-7pm. The position could be up to 20 hours a week. The client is sweet, loving, joyful and kind. He enjoys working on his art, spending time on his iPad and spending time with his family. He needs assistance with ADLs: dressing, eating (he can feed himself but needs to be reminded), showering, and chores as well as navigating activity transitions, increasing his communication skills, and lastly getting out into the community while also staying safe. DSP should be able to drive since he will occasionally need rides to piano lessons and doctors appointments. There are no pets or smoking in the home.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities and those experiencing dementia, ensuring their unique needs are met. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interactions and participation in community activities. Maintain documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations and resident rights. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate personnel. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset. Familiarity with resident rights and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed. Previous experience as a nurse or in a healthcare-related field is a plus but not required.
